Hell’s Cafe is coming along very well. Pablo has been sending me some beautiful  pages as he progresses with the script,  and I couldn’t be happier with his attention to detail and visual storytelling.  Here is a page from issue #1 which is still in progress but I thought I would share with you nonetheless.

I am in the process of considering an illustrator for my graphic novel Teratopia, which will also be available through the  Fearsome Library along with Hell’s Cafe. Please take a moment to visit the link and learn more about the story.

And in case you missed my mentioning that I was considering a very promising artist for Nightmares & Fairy Tales: Annabelle’s Story, I thought I should do so again. I should have news for you on that very shortly.

While considering artists I have also been doing research on my printing and distribution options for my independently published works. My current plan is to make the individual issues available online,  eventually printing them as graphic novels. Though I do think I will be doing some very small individual issue print runs for upcoming conventions like APE and WonderCon where I plan to have a table of my own to promote Fearsome Library Publishing and my new projects.

Those of you who frequent my journal know I’m working on a series of new self-published graphic novels and prose stories to be featured in The Fearsome Library – which will be made available to you for your online purchase and perusal. I believe I’ve mentioned Song of the Siren, a prose story inspired by my mermaid from Nightmares & Fairy Tales, and The Gorgon graphic novel I’ve been working on – and now I am happy to announce I am currently considering an artist for Hell’s Cafe, a graphic novel I have been working on for quite sometime.

Here’s a bit about Hell’s Cafe:
A young woman named Theodora joins a group of horror writers who meet at the Hell’s Café in New Orleans’ seedy red light district to drink absinthe and share their stories. She soon learns the deadly characters she and her new friends have created have manifested in the real world and are responsible for a string of murders that have overtaken the French Quarter. Theodora is forced to take on the responsibility of investigating these murders and physically confronting the creatures she and her friends have unleashed while trying to suppress the monster she is becoming herself.

I’m very excited to be working on this project again, it’s been put on the back burner for a number of reasons over the years,  and I think it’s time I make it a priority once more, especially since it’s a story I feel so passionately about.

Nightmares & Fairy Tales: Annabelle’s Story -Official Announcement-
There seems to be some confusion about Annabelle’s Story, hopefully this clears things up for everyone.

Since the release of Nightmares & Fairy Tales Annabelle’s Story #1, FSc has suffered a hand injury and the release of the subsequent issues were postponed – however recent events  dictate that FSc can no longer illustrate Annabelle’s Story [at all] due to her injury and current schedule,  so now I am in the process of seeking a new illustrator. Once I have found an artist I will be sure to make an announcement which will include samples of their art and of course a new release date for the graphic novel (which will be illustrated entirely by the new artist. The first issue illustrated by FSc will not be included in this graphic novel.)

I want you to know I love Nightmares & Fairy Tales as much as you do, and I will be sure to find a brilliant artist who will be perfect for this storyline, which happens to be my favorite in the series.

Fearsome Library: I’m writing a short prose story about Kira, my mermaid from Nightmares & Fairy Tales and a new graphic novel called Hell’s Cafe, both to be featured in The Fearsome Library.

Nightmares & Fairy Tales Annabelle’s Story: I’m sorry to report FSc is no longer illustrating Annabelle’s Story. Her current schedule combined with her hand injury makes it near impossible to complete the graphic novel in the foreseeable future. I am currently in the process of considering a very promising artist.

Boutique: I’m setting a new endeavor into motion and hope to have a little something to show you by the Winter Holiday. I’m working on a line of cameo necklaces, broaches, bookmarks and hatpins inspired by various characters from my books. I will be sure to make an announcement once it’s all sorted.

Secretus Operari: I’m about to start some other very exciting new projects – however I think I should wait until the contracts are signed and everything is sorted before I share the news with you lovelies.

In the interim, I’m looking forward to finding the right person for Annabelle’s Story, writing these new self-published stories for The Fearsome Library and creating some pretty little fripperies for you lovely ladies out there.

While doing research for a story I’m writing about a gorgon, I came across this beautiful painting by Jared Simeth and fell in love with it.

This story will be the first of my self-published graphic novels and will be featured in my Fearsome Library.

This is the time of the year where I set new goals for myself, set new plans into action and do my “Spring Cleaning”, figuratively and literally. It usually starts on Day of the Dead.

This year I woke to a dream where I had been on a train with my sister Jesse who passed away five years ago. She looked beautiful and healthy and wanted to know everything I had been up to these past five years. She was amazed I had lost so much weight and remarked upon how changed I seemed. We just chatted while holding hands – and kicked off our shoes because it was going to be a long train trip. We laughed the way we used to, that infectious never-ending laughter we both shared and inspired in each other and we laughed even harder at the side glances we received because we were annoying the other people in our train car. We were in our own world. But our stop seemed to come too soon and we were rushed to gather our things and exit the train where we became separated by the throngs of other passengers also exiting. While I was waiting nervously on the platform for Jesse to join me, the conductor assured me she was coming out, but I knew I would never see her again. So I took my things and wandered down the platform feeling happy for the little time I just had with her.
